Little Dino

3 Jul

While my Aunt was in town, she was telling me that Joann’s Fabric sells fabric that has directions on how to make little fabric books. So immediately I knew I had to give it a try. These sound much too cute and let me tell you, they are super cute!

So here’s my first attempt and it’s not too shabby. There are definitely some mistakes but most of them I can over look. Here’s my first book and I say first because I will most definitely be making more of these and mostly as gifts considering I have no use for them.

Well, here it is…

the lovely cover.

and a peek at the inside.

So, even if your really new to sewing, you can do this. I promise, it’s really easy and if you have any questions, feel free to email me.

Good luck!!!

Have you seen it…

29 Jun

Sorry about my looooooonnnnnnggggg absence. I really do love and miss blogging. Things have just been crazy around here. My brother, his wife and their baby have been here for a couple weeks, then we had relatives come into town as well. There was a wedding. Everything has just been kind of hectic. So I hope you haven’t abandoned me yet.

Well, I had to jump on here and ask you if you’ve seen it yet.

What am I talking about, the new show Craft Wars of course. I’m absolutely loving it. They’ve only had one episode so far but it was so fun. I can’t wait to see what people come up with and what crafty bloggers out there end up on the show. 🙂 So if you love anything crafty, I suggest, START WATCHING IT!

Enjoy your Friday! and Happy Birthday to my dear wonderful dad! (we celebrated yesterday) Just another reason for my absence.

Something Lovely

23 May

Today was a lovely day, other than the fact that I only got 2 hours of sleep, but I had to run up north right near Archivers. How convenient. The best news was that they are shutting their north store down and moving only 10 minutes away from me!!!! Yippee! Of course I was over joyed and now my bank account is no longer safe. 🙂

Anyway, I picked up a couple goodies and thought I’d share them, because well, I love them!

Look at these little people! So cute!

Both of these are great, but, I’m a huge fan of these Jillibean stickers. I have several other ones as well.

Absolutely CAN’T wait to try these masks!!! I mean look at that ampersand! Eeeekkk!!!!

I want to try spraying the ampersand onto the front of a smash book! Cross my fingers that it’s going to look amazing!

I promise I’ll share, whether it’s a fail or not. 🙂

Enjoy your wednesday!

Make Something Monday

21 May

So the other day I mentioned I had a secret. I couldn’t give it away yet because it was a surprise birthday party for my mother. I had to keep things quiet just in case she chose to read, but here’s some of the goodies my friend and I put together for the big day.

If you can tell, the party was asian themed. I made this banner following the same set up as this one.

This is my lovely mother! I sewed the kimono my mother is wearing. I was going to post the tutorial for it, but it was more of a fail. It fits her well, but other than that, it didn’t turn out so well. So I probably won’t be sharing the tutorial. All her gifts were asian in some way. My mother has loved all things asian (martial arts, paintings, the language, food, basically everything) for as long as I can remember. So we kept the gifts centered around her theme.

My brother and his wife got her the necklace she’s wearing, it’s a chinese dragon, my friend got her a lantern, my dad got her chopsticks and wrote her a beautiful certificate adopting her into the asian race. It’s very beautiful and funny.

Here she is with all her loot. Sorry the picture is so dark, it’s the only one we got of her holding everything.

We had all asian food to, egg rolls, yum!

Well, enjoy your lovely monday!

Shhh… It’s A Secret

15 May

I’m working on something fun right now. Should turn out cute, hopefully.

I’m sure you can tell what kind of theme it is… 🙂

More about this later!

Make Something Monday

9 Apr

Okay, so I have a lot of explaining to do. I know I’ve been MIA for way to long and I’ve missed posting and hearing from all of you. I’ve just been busy soaking up all the time I could with my little brother before he left to serve a mission for our church. He left on Tuesday and I won’t see him again for 2 years. It’s bittersweet, because he is doing something so important and wonderful but he will be so VERY missed!!! So hopefully that gives me a little bit of an excuse for disappearing.

Anyway I thought I’d share with you what a friend of mine and I just finished sewing.

I LOVE it! It’s so cute and simple. I didn’t come up with it but here is where you can get the tutorial. It’s very straight forward and easy to follow, so I highly recommend making one of your own.

Obviously it’s just a little clutch/wristlet, so you can’t carry a lot in it, but it’s large enough to carry everything that you need. I LOVE it! It’s my first try at anything fashion and I love how it turned out.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes for you.

Good Luck!

Also hope you had a lovely Easter!

Thankful Thursday

8 Mar

Let’s jump right in!

I’m thankful for this book I just finished! I’m loving this series. It sounds kind of silly (it’s about faeries) but it really is a good story.

This is the second book in the series, so if your interested, the first book is called Wings.

I’m also thankful for girlie birthday crafts that I’m working on…

and

my cricut, which I’ve been using to cut all this fun stuff out with.

This machine really is a life saver if you love scrapbooking or are doing crafts all the time.

I’m also thanful for this beautiful weather and view I have from my balcony.

and lastly I’m thankful for clear stamps. I’ve never really been on board the stamp train, but every since I saw Dear Lizzy’s line and stamps I knew I wanted them and now I know how AMAZING the clear stamps are. I can’t seem to get enough of them and bonus, Michaels has a ton of them in their dollar bin. Yippee!

Soooooooo…. What are you Thankful for?
