Weathering Out A Storm

25 Jan

What do you like to do during a storm?

Here’s what we’re doing…

1. He just working and using his noise canceling headphones. He probably doesn’t even know there’s a storm. 😉
2. Got my candle lit just in case there’s a power outage and bonus these woodwick candles are heaven. Sounds like an itty bitty fireplace and smells divine!
3. Got my lifetime supply of cough drops… January has been bad to me.
4. Wrapped in my softest red blanket, acting like a weirdo.
5. Yep, my dog is a real man, that is his bone. ha ha (don’t worry he has little toys to, but he really likes this big bone.)
6. Got my new book, can’t tell you if it’s any good yet, I’m only 3 chapters in. Enjoying it so far.

Thankful Thursday

20 Oct

Thanx for the feel better comments, because I’m feeling a lot better. I think I just needed a good nights sleep! I slept like a rock last night and didn’t get up until almost noon. It was wonderful!

So I will definitely start with, I’m thankful I’m feeling better! Bet you didn’t see that one coming. 🙂

I’m also thankful for collectors edition books because they are so beautiful to look at. Every time I set foot in a Barnes and Noble I have to look at these. It’s so random, but I love them!

Kind of makes you want to own them, even if some of them are boring. 🙂

Okay the next one is silly but way too awesome to leave out of Thankful Thursday. I’m thankful for this barbie calendar that I found. I know, I’m a 26 year old gal who still likes barbie, but look at her, who couldn’t think she’s stunning.

p.s. I also have a barbie pinterest board. Just giving you a little sneak peek of the awesome boards I will hopefully be sharing soon!

I’m also thankful for the cricut magazine! Did you guys know cricut has a magazine? Also, bonus it doesn’t look or feel like a magazine it’s more like a book. Nice and thick, full of wonderful ideas for cards and scrapbooking!

If you don’t have a cricut machine, christmas is coming, put it on the list. They are amazing! I LOVE IT! My husband got it for my birthday and it rocks! There is so much you can do with them. They cut fabric, vinyl, paper obviously. 🙂 Lots of fun!

Last but certainly not least, I’m thankful for the loves of my life!

This is an older picture and I’m just so amazed at how small Aladdin was just a year and half ago. Time flies doesn’t it?

So what are you thankful for?

Thankful Thursday

6 Oct

There are so many things I’m thankful for, like my husband, family and my little puppy Aladdin, but I wanted to just really look at the little things that made me happy today and be thankful for them.

Cereal that taste like candy

Books I’ve been reading lately

I found an amazing park today, (if you can tell by all the nature pictures) that I plan on visiting more often, maybe taking a book and a blanket to just sit under the sun, listen to the water and disappear in a different world.

What are you thankful for today?

I Finished It

10 Sep

Here’s how my day went, woke up way too late, told my husband to take the car and decided to stay in the hotel room all day so I could finally wash clothes and catch up on some reading. Also I know my puppy Aladdin was happy, he had me all to himself all day long.

See how comfy he is since I stayed in all day.

Oh so I finished it: the laundry and that book Possession I mention here. I don’t know what makes me more happy, finishing a new book or being done with laundry!

See how neat and pretty I made the laundry. That only happens when I’m stuck inside and a zillion miles away from home. Boredom, makes me neat, huh who knew.

Okay, so possession was good, I really enjoyed it, not 5 stars enjoyed it but maybe 3.5 to 4 stars. Somewhere in that range. The only thing I didn’t like about it, was sometimes her writing was confusing or randomly I just felt lost. Maybe thats just me but thats why it’s not a 5 in my book. I don’t want to say too much else about it so I don’t ruin for you, but it’s worth the time.

Well enjoy your weekend! Hope you have something fabulous planned!

Wanna Read

29 Aug

Since I’ve just been relaxing and soaking up all of Charlotte, I thought I’d pick up a couple books that looked good and that I’ve been waiting for. I wanted to share them with you and if you want to join, that would be fun!

I started this one a couple days ago and I’ve got about 40 pages left. I had never heard of it, but the review on the top caught my eye. James Dashner, author of The Maze Runner which I really liked had good things to say about this one. So if you like fictional/fantasy, books this one’s been pretty good so far. Sometimes it gets a little confusing, but overall decent.

This one I’ve been waiting for, so I’m excited. I haven’t started it yet, because it just barely came out. If this looks good to you, then, I suggest picking up the first one so your not completely lost. “I Am Number Four” is the name of the first one and I really enjoyed it. The movie just recently came out as well so that was fun to see. However, they changed a lot of things in the movie that made me grumpy, but still fun to see how they portrayed the book on the big screen. So I’m pretty excited to get started with this one. Also fiction/fantasy.

If you can tell, I’m really excited to get home and start some projects to share with you guys. Just a shot of the craft section at Barnes and Noble. Also a lovely green shot of my view from the top story of the bookstore. It’s going to be hard to say goodbye to the trees in Charlotte, but I’m going crazy missing my puppy in Austin.
