Happy Leap Year, er Extra Day

29 Feb

I know, once again I’ve been missing. I apologize for the delay between my posts. Just trying to get back into a good routine with blogging. Just thought I’d share the last couple days in pictures.

1. There’s my little guy, completely crazy for the laser pen.
2. Just a yummy yummy snack.
3. Finally got my Dear Lizzy stamp in the mail! So excited!
4. I know I look goofy, but this man just makes me so dang happy.
5. Got myself some O.J. with mango of course, in my pretty glass.
6. Just a little shoe shopping, I have to say these are the most comfortable wedges I’ve ever tried on in my life. Still debating if I need them.

Enjoy your extra day, do something awesome!

Fashion Friday

24 Feb

So I found a couple lovelies that I’m wishing I had right about now.

Isn’t that pretty, I love that cut with the longer back. So elegant.

Isn’t this such a cute little tee, the bow is so adorable.

I LOVE this! I know the chevron print has kind of been overplayed a bit but I’m still loving it!

I’m still loving the ties in front! Gorgeous!

1. Ruche
2. H&M
3. Nordstrom
4. Ruche

I know, if you don’t have an H&M near you, like me, then you can only wish for the cute tee, still I can’t help but continuously glance at their website and see what I’m missing. 🙂

What are you doing this weekend? Hope you have better plans than me!

Happy Friday!

Thankful Thursday

23 Feb

Okay so I don’t know if any of you have been watching, but I’m VERY thankful for…

This show is awesome! I haven’t missed an episode, then again, thats what DVR is for. 🙂

I’m always thankful for this little guy, he’s just so darn cute when he sees our laser pen on the floor. He goes crazy, just flying back and forth across the carpet. Next time I will get you a video of him trying to catch the green dot.

I’m also thankful for Gelato. The husband and I went to Whole Foods and got ourselves some very yummy gelato. I mean who can resist when there’s flavors like Maple Pecan, Lemon Chocolate Raspberry, Coconut or Pumpkin. Yum!

I’m also thankful for this book that I mentioned awhile back. It was good and I just discovered that the second one is already out and I somehow had no clue, so I’m pretty excited!!! 🙂

So what are you thankful for today?

21 Feb

So sorry I’ve been a little M.I.A. lately! I think after Valentines day and family came into town, things just got a little crazy! I hope everyone enjoyed their 3 day weekend!

Well of course I’ve been submerged in pinterest as usual and I just thought I’d share some of the lovely things I’ve found inspiration from. If your following my pinterest you have probably seen most of these but if not I hope it’s something new to fall in love with.

Aren’t the neutrals just gorgeous! I love all the stitching and just all the little details! Gorgeous!

Okay I’m seriously in love with these kites. How lovely would these look in a craft room or maybe your child’s bedroom/playroom. So adorable! I want to make them!

I’ve just been loving the tassel garland lately! I will use it for something eventually. Maybe a party or just hung in a room because it’s stunning. Loving it!

Or how about this fun quit for a little one! How unique is this? I just can’t get over some of the ideas people come up with. I love this!

Well I hope something here inspired you to get crafting, quilting or maybe just using pinterest. 🙂

Enjoy your day!

Thankful Thursday

16 Feb

I’m thankful for this awesome project that has totally inspired me to make a scrapbook page like this! I grabbed a Harry Potter book at half price books for a dollar and I’m adding their chapter pictures in mine as well. It looks awesome so far! I promise pictures when I’m done but I just need to get some instagram pictures developed and that will probably take several days.

I’m also thankful for Ghirardelli dark chocolate baking chips that sadly I’ve been eating by the handful! I bought a couple bags to make chocolate covered strawberries and had too much left over, I’m “suffering” with all the extras. 🙂

I’m also thankful for the Austin river! I love it! My husband and I have been walking more and I just love the scene over there, so peaceful and beautiful.

Isn’t that sky gorgeous! It was just about dark!

Well I gotta ask, what are you THANKFUL for?

Happy Valentines Day

14 Feb

Happy Valentines Day!

If you’ve never heard of the app Red Stamp, I just discovered it and it’s amazing! You can make all kinds of post cards and just use or send them electronically or you can pay and they will take care of printing and send your postcards to anyone you want. I’m pretty sure everybody I know is about to start getting postcards for all kinds of random reasons.

I hope you have a spectacular Valentines Day!

Make Something Monday

13 Feb

I’m continuing on with the the quilt so lets move onto Part Two.

Supplies for Part Two

Batting Crib Size
Fabric for Backing and I forgot to write down how much I bought, just make sure it’s bigger than the quilt size.
Quilting Pins (unless you purchase batting that has the glue in it. I failed to notice if mine had it and so I pinned.)

Step One

Lay your quilt out just so you make sure you have your squares in the right order. Then start on the first row and grab the first two squares, put right sides together and sew up the edge just like you did the strips.

Continue with the squares in that row until you they are all connected and you have a pretty little row like this.

Step Two

Sew the next row and next row and so on until you have 5 rows.

Step Three

Lay row one on row two, right sides together and sew down the side. Continue to connect all five rows until you have one side of your lovely quilt!

Sorry, holding it up was a bad idea, the light kind of made it see through, but here is the finished one side. Ta Da!

Step Four

Lay your back fabric right side facing the floor. Lay your batting down and your quilt top, right side facing up. It’s like a fabric sandwich.

Pin away! I actually don’t know how much you need to pin, I’m betting I’ll need more, but I don’t actually know how much you need. Just enough to hold it together when your sewing your design on the top.

Well I’m hoping to have the finished quilt next Monday so look for the final product then. I’m pretty psyched! I’m loving how it’s turning out so far. It’s pretty small but I knew I wanted a small quilt in case I totally ruined it. 🙂 Maybe next time, if this finishes well, I’ll have the guts to make a nice big one for our bed.

Anyway, if your attempting this with me, good luck and feel free to ask me any questions you have along the way. I’ll try my best to answer them for you.

Happy Sewing!
